July 31 - Fallen Tree Closes Warwick Road
Engines 69-1 and 65 were dispatched to a reported downed wires incident across from Sterling High School. First arriving unit Eng. 69-1 reported that a large uprooted tree had fallen across the wires and closed Warwick Road, several blocks from the high school. Crews from 69-1 and Quint 65 were in service for an hour clearing the hazard after it was determined that the wires involved were communications lines. A representative from PSE&G, the Mayors of Hi-Nella and Stratford, and several personnel from Station 64-1 were on site to monitor the activity.
